BECOMING MIGHTY
in the Lord

You will learn that you will need to develop greater discernment for the more subtle types of sins, so that you may get free from sin.  That each action you take may either advance the kingdom of God or sustain the kingdom of darkness.   Are you giving place to the devil or are you submitting to God?  How to develop good spiritual habits and increase your spiritual authority.  Confessing sins versus Repenting of sins.

Obesity is a growing problem in America today.  Most overweight people have poor eating habits.  They tend to eat foods with a high fat, high calorie content that have a low nutritional value.  We know these as “junk food” and “fast food”.  In addition to eating junk and fast foods, they tend to eat large portions and continue to eat, even after they are full.  Now if one truly believes that overeating (excessive caloric intake) is not what caused them to become overweight, it will be impossible to convince them to change their eating habits from poor to healthful.  Healthful eating habits make healthy people and healthful spiritual habits will make mature healthy Christians.  Just as overeating will cause people to become overweight and unhealthy; not Realizing areas of sin will cause you to be spiritual unhealthy.

REALIZATION is the point that you realize or discern your true position as it relates to sin.  Sometimes it may be referred to as “being on the wrong side of the fence”.  North Texas, just like the rest of Texas, is cattle country.  There are thousands upon thousands of miles of barbwire fences.  These fences not only keep other people’s cattle from roaming onto someone else’s property, they also mark the boundaries of the property.  One day as I was driving across some back roads in North Texas, the Lord spoke to me these words “give the devil NO place”.  As I heard these words I noticed an area of land that was enclosed by a barbwire fence.  I felt as if that piece of land represented the territory that Jesus gives to each believer, in the spirit.

Luke 22:29 - and I assign to you, as my Father assigned to me, a kingdom,

In the spirit, I could see myself walking around the perimeter of the land to make sure that all the fences were secure, so that no unwanted trespassers could get in.  I also pictured myself walking throughout the property to make sure that no “squatters” had set up camp.  I remember seeing a few spots, within the fenced in area, where a clump of shrubs were growing.  To me the shrubs represented areas where the enemy had set up camp and this was possible because there were areas of my life that I had not yet surrendered to Jesus.

Believe me I thought that every area of my life was fully submitted to the Lord, but the obvious truth was that some areas were not.  As we grow and Become Mighty in the Lord we will be shown, by the Holy Spirit, areas that are not yet submitted to God but need to be.  God was showing me that not only does my fence need to be secure (not to practice sin), but I also need to allow the Holy Spirit to show me any areas of iniquity that I inherited from my physical fathers.  I felt reassured that as I allowed the Lord to deal with these areas that He would expand my boundaries.  I then realized that as a citizen of the kingdom of heaven, I had been given a realm of authority.

The decisions that I make in life will either advance the kingdom of God or will sustain the kingdom of the devil.  If I chose to honor God, by being obedient to His word, I would advance His kingdom, but if I am disobedient I would be giving the devil “place” in the territory that God has entrusted to me and thus sustaining the wrong kingdom.
