Becoming Mighty
in the Lord

This chapter sets the foundation of the Christian life.  It covers Salvation (Declaration of Jesus as Lord), Regeneration (water baptism) and the Impartation of the Holy Spirit.  It explains the differences between those who Believe Vs. those who Follow Jesus. By developing your Faith and your understanding His Grace, you will learn how to begin a meaningful relationship with God, experience the Power of Christ and have victory over sin.

Restoration is God’s plan to restore us (Followers) back to the Power and Authority that He originally gave mankind in the Garden.  As we learn to hear His voice and walk with Him, in the Spirit of the day, He will teach us how.  At this point I would like to define what a Follower of Jesus Christ is, because many believe in Jesus but not everyone follows Jesus.  Someone who follows Jesus should have corresponding actions that demonstrate their belief (faith, conviction, confidence or trust) in Jesus.  To follow Jesus takes commitment.  The disciples not only believed Jesus was the promised Messiah (Christ), but they also left all to follow Him.  What will you have to leave to follow Him?  What lifestyle changes will you have to make?  Are you willing to forsake all the world has to offer to follow Him?

…We know that when Adam sinned we lost our God given power and authority to the devil.  However, did you know that Followers were given back this Power and Authority when Jesus died on the tree (cross) and rose again from the dead?

…When I am strong I should also encourage and strengthen those around me who are not, so that when I need to be strengthen or encouraged my brothers or sisters, in the faith, can come along side me and strengthen me.  It also reminds us that we are only strong through the word of God, never apart from it.  Another understanding is… as we see one another’s actions of obedience to the Word of God, we will be demonstrating our faith by our corresponding actions of obedience and this will encourage others to do the same.

Restoration consists of three parts:
    1.      Salvation
    2.      Regeneration
    3.      Impartation
