Becoming Mighty
in the Lord

I believe that the chief reason that so many people have their emotions out of control is un-forgiveness.  Un-forgiveness is an open door to the devil and it will also cause you to be bound.  Once you are bound the enemy can come in and spoil your goods.  Have you ever met someone who had been wronged or hurt many many years ago?  Have you ever noticed how they can relive the past like it was yesterday?  If they would have chosen to forgive the person who wronged them years ago; they would not be walking in bitterness today.  Forgiveness is a choice that is not dependant on an apology from the offender.  Jesus forgave all as He hung on the cross and no one was standing there asking or pleading for forgiveness.

Throughout the bible the word “soul” is sometimes translated to mean one’s spirit and the word “spirit” is sometimes used to mean one’s soul.  Today, most Christians are taught that our spirit is void of any emotions and that our soul is full of emotions, however this is incorrect.  Emotions are not only found under soul and flesh, but they are also found under spirit: “2a) the rational spirit, the power by which the human being feels, thinks, decides - 2b) the soul” (Strong’s Greek Lexicon).  If we look at the three words being used for “soul” and both of the words being used for “spirit” in the Old and New Testaments we will see that they ALL speak of having a “mind”, a “will” and “emotions”.  I know what I just said was a mouthful and if I stepped on the toes of your doctrine, I would ask that you pray for a Spirit of wisdom and understanding at this time.

Every Person has a spirit.  Your spirit is eternal; it will live forever, which means that you will live forever.  Every person has a Mind, a Will and Emotions; this is what is known as a Soul...
